This company is horrible Avoid doing business with them after protect America was sold to them customer service became un reachable Alarms were ignored equipment stoped working and after many attempts finally reached someone and many attempt to schedule a technician to come and fix the issues with no success 3 month we had no service and after finally canceled the service they claimed that I still owed them another month and send for collection agency for 48 dollars after 3 years of being a customer and no single late payment No they sold my account to collection agency with added late fee and some service fee that was never agreed on

RUN FROM BRINKS

I recently had the displeasure of dealing with Brinks Home Security, and I must say that my experience has left me feeling frustrated and dissatisfied. While I understand that issues can arise with any security system, the way Brinks handles customer service and their cancellation policy has left me with a negative impression. First and foremost, I was shocked to learn that Brinks charges a steep $75 fee for a technician to come out and fix any camera issues. In today's competitive market, many companies offer complimentary or significantly reduced fees for troubleshooting or repairs. This approach seems outdated and unfair to customers who already invested in their security system. Furthermore, the assistance I received over the phone was far from helpful. The representatives I spoke with seemed poorly trained and unable to adequately address or resolve my concerns. Rather than providing me with useful troubleshooting steps or potential solutions, I was left feeling like I was being passed around without any real assistance. The final straw for me was when I decided to cancel my service with Brinks. To my astonishment, I discovered that they have an exorbitant cancellation policy that requires customers to pay the entire monthly fee for the remaining months of their contract, which in my case would be a staggering 20 months! This policy is not only unreasonable but also makes it incredibly difficult and expensive for customers to switch to a better security provider, should they choose to do so. Overall, my experience with Brinks Home Security has been disappointing. The exorbitant fee for technician visits, unhelpful phone support, and punitive cancellation policy have left me questioning the value of their service. I would strongly advise considering alternative security providers that offer better customer support and more reasonable policies.

I have called and sent emails about no service or for a representative to come to our home. We have 1 camera and doorbell. Doorbell does work when its pushed. Not happy with any of your services. I would like to cancel my service because its a waste of $72.72 per month. We have sold the house and I can not get a call returned or text or email! If I could give 0 stars I would, STAY AWAY! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Have tried to cancel my contract with them and they aren't letting me, contract expires in January but are saying I have to wait till February and are still CHARGING ME FOR UNUSED SERVICE! Their customer service IS HORRIBLE! UNPROFESSIONAL! USELESS! ADT sounds like a better option. Save your money and a headache and just don't get this service. Their equipment breaks and it takes them months to fix! It's a joke! I am NEVER recommending this company to anyone!

Technician showed up after 2 minutes of signing, made sexual innuendos towards me and high five me because my late husband was black. I tried to cancel since they're closed on Sunday the following Monday, but they refused. They gave me 2 old, used cameras that are offline since 23 November. I wanted an additional indoor camera but never received it. Nothing but lies and deception. Customer service is poor and unhelpful. Hung up on me twice and only lied. Stay away from Brinks at all cost. I pay $86 for 2 lousy cameras and was told I'd save. With ADT I Paid $56 for exceptional service and working cameras.

BrinksHome doesnt provide servicing of their products without a private contractor. They didnt follow through with providing a letter to waive the false alarm do to product malfunction.They didnt submit to cancellation although my monitoring is provided by Alarm.com, not Monitronics International, Inc.

Need to cancel. Robber is using to survey me & home & making it easy for him to enter & steal. You Tube will sell device to disable security or a key to open any lock They will also show you how to make both of these things. Police need proof or else they can do nothing. No proof when thief an disable security to these cameras. Thief can take items from your house & when he gets them to his house, The police cannot touch him, search his house, etc,. Home owner has no way to get Their belonging back. I have been robbed since 10/29/21. Have stayed home 24/7 for over a year. A friend comes so that I can get food. Doctors, dentists, etc , I cannot do, cannot leave house. But he is still stealing.

Worst Customer Service

Brinks Home Security is the worst home security company out there. I have had them for 1 1/2 yrs now and have had so many issues with them. Trying to schedule service is a nightmare. They make you wait weeks on end to get someone out to your home. You schedule an appointment and they don't have anyone available for weeks. Once you get your appointment scheduled, they then reschedule it push it out even further. The Techs show up without the equipment they need, even though I told them what the issue was when I called to schedule. Trying to escalate issues is impossible. I have spent hours on the phone getting transferred around only to get disconnected with no resolution. I left multiple messages and nobody ever called me back. Don't waste your money, go somewhere else. I will cancel as soon as I am out of this contract.

Terrible company

I had ADT in my former home but then moved and got a promotional offer to move to Brinks for a 3 year contract. The panel completely stopped working about 4 weeks before I was going to go on vacation. I called brinks and scheduled an appointment for repair. The earliest appointment I could get was almost a month later. The night before they were supposed to come they cancelled and when I called they said the earliest they could come out was after I was on vacation. The whole point of a security system is to monitor your home when you aren't home! I called ADT and they came out and fixed Brinks system. I paid the tech under the table. Unfortunately I still had a year left on my contract with brinks so I suffered another year. They are a terrible company. I switched back to ADT.

I had Brinks Security System Installed over a year ago nothing but problems!

A guy by the name of Michael Walker came to my house, said he worked for Brinks Security System! So I let him talk me in to getting a security system, which he installed him self! I've had nothing but problems, He did something that's caused me electrical issues in a couple rooms of my house! I never had Electrical issues until he installed Brinks alarm system! Brinks is worse than ADT! My Alarm has not worked a third of the time it's been installed by Michael Walker, he claims to have had an office in Overland Park, Kansas and worked for Brinks! Now I'm going to have to hire an Electrician to fix the electrical problem this moron has caused to my home! I WANT MY CONTRACT CANCELLED ASAP! THE ALARM SYSTEM IS NOT AND HAS NOT WORKED A 100 PERCENT SINCE HE INSTALLED IT ! I HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF CONTACTING MY ATTORNEY AND SUING FOR JUNK SECURITY SYSTEM! I am GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE, THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND CONTACT THE NEWS MEDIA TO DO A INVESTIGATION AS WELL! I lived in Arizona had Monotronics for home security. My husband passed away in 2016 I canceled their services sold my house in 2017 and moved on now in 2023 I get a notice from the an attorney stating I owe $600 plus what a scam lets get a class action lawsuit against these people.

A complete and utter scam. I was a loyal customer until they tried to hit me with outrageous charges. Hundreds of dollars to move, tried to charge me twice for their mistake of equipment being sent to the wrong address. When I tried to cancel they tried to charge me thousands and claimed I signed a 5 year contract. Never once did I receive and sign any contract. Before I even cancelled, they locked me out of my account. Customer service has been no help at all. They just tell youre wrong and dont try to offer any solution. There are so many better security companies that wont try to scam you time and time again.

Good Afternoon, I am writing as a last resort. I have Brinks (for years). It was originally with Monotronics and have been told that I cant cancel because I have a contract. THAT CONTRACT IS A TWO WAY STREET! I have not had service for many months, but have paid, regardless. NOT ANY MORE. After I called (more than once) a technician came and repaired the service, but it wasnt done properly and a sensor fell off. Still no service. I called. Another person (a female) came and put it back on. I still have no service. You can check my record. Just recently I tried to set the alarm to leave the house AND THE ALARM WENT OFF. You keep calling and sending me big bills regarding non payment, late fees, service charges, even a charge for sending me a paper bill! Now Im done. I WONT PAY UNTIL I HAVE SERVICE AND A CREDIT FOR THE TIME I HAD NO SERVICE AND A CREDIT FOR ALL THE OTHER STUFF. MY NEXT STEP IS TO GO PUBLIC, THE BBB, ONLINE PLACES, ETC. Beware of contracts that they don’t tell you about!

We had an original contract for 36 months that began in our last home in 2019. Alarm monitoring service is terrible! Sirens went off several times and no one called us or alerted us or the authorities. When we moved to our new house in 2020, we requested to move our services to the new address since we were tied to the contract. They told us they could do it for us if we paid for the new equipment which was offered as a special and cost $300 plus installation costs. We paid that fee at the time of the installation and they offered us a new monthly rate for being loyal customers and told us we wouldnt have to extend our original contract. Yeah right!!! What they didnt tell us, is that they DID extended our original contract for an additional 41 months!!! They actually added 41 months on top of the existing contract from 2019 that hadnt expired yet. The original contract was set to end in 2022. So they locked us into a contract without our consent for over 60 months!!! No one sent us a letter stating this nor explained that to us prior to the installation. Had we known that we would have told them to jump in a lake! This contract change also is not listed on our account online. We never agreed to this and now they say we can either pay off the account or keep paying monthly for 30 months which would go to mid-2025. Our original contract was to end in 2022!! Our doorbell camera never works and still no one from the monitoring center calls when the alarm is triggered. I just learned of this mess when I called today asking to cancel our account. They want us to pay for the equipment (that barely works) and pay the remaining 30 months of the contracttotal cost of $1,770!!! These people are crooks! One doorbell camera, 3 sensors and an alarm keypad doesnt cost that much!! We can buy an entire Ring alarm kit system for less than 1/3 of that price. What a ripoff! I want out of this contract and dont want to pay them anything else.
